New Student Guidelines


Observing the practice

We always welcome people who would like to observe our practice.  Although it is not required to notify your visit, I would recommend contact us to confirm the class schedule.  Observing our practices is free of charge.

Participating in the practice

Students who have previous experience in practicing Kyudo can participate the regular classes at any time.

Students who is younger than 15 years old will not be accepted for safety reasons.
Students who is between 15 and 18 years old need to have their parent's accompany.

Students who have no (or very little) experience in Kyudo need to complete the following requirements before participating in the regular classes:

1)      Complete the beginner course with 5 classes held semi-annually.  Required to attend the 1st class and minimum 3 classes of the rest of the 4 classes.  First class is $20 per person.  At the second class, pay the beginner course fee of $50 for the rest of the course.

2)      Observe the regular class at least once.  (Free)


*Next Beginner course starts in winter 2015/2016. (Details will be posted on events page.)

*If you have some experience in practicing Kyudo but no sure you are required to participate beginner course, please contact me with information including 1) when and where you practiced Kyudo and 2) how long (period) and how often you have practiced Kyudo.

Kyudo Equipment

You don't need any equipments to participate the beginner course. You can share our equipments at our regular classes.  First thing I recommend you to purchase is "Yugake" glove.  Because it will take a couple of weeks or months to get it, I recommend you to order once you become sure that you will continue to practice Kyudo.  Here are the websites you can order your glove.
